the pic. the blurb. the words. there's a connection somewhere.

cant sleep on christmas morning...
seems like 1989 all over again.
can it be that it was so simple then.

they say its all perspective
but my glass is really
half-full
and i am obeying thirst
for life
from street corner
to secluded park bench
half-full
born hungry
and ready for more
boy meets world
it was an instant connection
match made in heaven
a may - december thing
got me singing in rain
and enjoying the sand
in between my toes
on the move
like a leaf in prevailing winds
lookin at upswing and upsides
hold my place in the buffet line
half - full.

the jumpoff

summertime as a child for me meant trips to bleeker street. cabbage
town. downtown. a lot of time was spent exploring cabbagetown, st. james town, regent park and certain parts of riverdale.
fast forward 12 - 15 years and i'm back again exploring cabbagetown, regent park, st. jamestown and beyond, this time with urban planning on the mind.
not much has changed, revitalization projects excluded and memories still linger of nicky-nicky nine door and insane games of tags (that would be probably be deemed unsafe by any real authority).
but thanks to a two hour journey today, i touched base with some old spaces and new places. and one step at a time, i saw my past, took in the present and had a glimpse of what could be my future.
